What is Self Awareness?
Using the most simple terms...Self Awareness is the ability to KNOW oneself....to understand one's feelings and emotions, to understand one's strengths and weaknesses, the desire to internally grow and face life's challenges, while embodying a grounded sense of confidence, and optimism.

Why is Self Awareness Important?
"Without the awareness of self, it is impossible to live a life that is truly fulfilling and to realize one's purpose in this lifetime."
First and foremost, the foundation of cultivating self awareness is the ability to identify ones own emotional state.
Understanding your baseline emotional state will help you to know when it shifts.
When you wake up in the morning, ask yourself this simple question - "How am I feeling right now?"
What Do I Do Next?
The first step is to just notice when your baseline emotional state shifts, ...to pay attention. Orient yourself to what is happening in your environment and within yourself.
Pause....and tune into your body.
Where do you feel this in your body?
If you have not tuned into your body like this before, it may take a little practice....so be patient with yourself.
Certain emotions are felt in different areas of the body: for example, if you are feeling it in your chest/lung area you could be feeling sadness or grief. If you are feeling it in your gut area, you could be feeling helplessness or fear, etc.
First Step: Pay attention to the shift
Second Step: Pause and tune into your body
Third Step: Bring in the energy of curiosity
